Ashley’s World
Ashley’s World, experimental trailer
Viewers are introduced to the many characters and eccentric objects which inhabit Ashley’s world. The vibrant and exaggerated space she lives in is an external mirror of her psyche, filled with imaginary voices and figures which take on tangible reality. We meet Ashley’s angel guide whom she speaks to through a locker, a British narrator, and 90’s themed pillows. Ashley’s World fetishizess millenial feminist spirituality while engaging with it in a participatory and humorous manner.
Wellness Radio
Wellness Radio, experimental film
Wellness Radio fuses youtube video clips, ted talks, and meditations side by side with performative movement. Themes of capitalist infused wellness, oversaturation of information, and the psychology of motivational speaking are explored through embodied movement and absurdist gestures. What happens when you run a seemingly spiritual idea through the faucet of capitalist society, celebrity dieting, and ego-centric social media platforms? This two-channel video uses duplicity and mirroring to engage in the discussion of blind participation in cultural wellness trends and the desire to miraculously transform one’s life.
Intersections
Intersections, experimental film
Simultaneous views of Ashley’s world collide in this tangential, rabbit hole piece which floats between chaos and moments of tranquility.
Psyche Theater
Psyche Theater, experimental film (excerpt)
In Psyche Theater, dialogic relationships are explored through a non-linear and overlapping sequencing of sound and video. Each video channel represents a portal or visual communication line. All channels are interconnected, communicating with each other, as a portrait of the inner psyche is constructed via visuals and sound in a 4 channel box of multimedia theater.
